Dr. JT Glomset is board certified in orthopedic surgery and fellowship trained in sports medicine
Dr. Glomset attended the University of Oklahoma for both undergraduate and medical school. After graduating, he moved to New Orleans to complete his orthopedic surgery residency at the Ochsner Medical Center. Following his residency and military service, Dr. Glomset was selected for the sports medicine and shoulder reconstruction fellowship at the prestigious Steadman Hawkins Clinic of the Carolinas.
An Oklahoma native, Dr. JT Glomset is board certified in orthopedic surgery and fellowship trained in sports medicine and shoulder reconstruction. He specializes in advanced nonoperative and operative management of complex hip, shoulder and knee injuries.
His practice focuses on cartilage restoration, joint preservation and reconstruction. He offers multiple procedures to include hip arthroscopy, cartilage transplantation, ligament repair/reconstruction and shoulder replacement.
Prior to entering private practice, Dr. Glomset served in the United States Army, where he had multiple combat deployments while assigned to the Joint Special Operations Command (JSOC). During those deployments, he was awarded 2 Bronze Stars as well as the Combat Medical Badge, for performing his duties as a surgeon under enemy fire. Those experiences contribute to his passion to provide excellent orthopedic care for military service members and retirees.
Dr. Glomset remains committed to continued education and research. His research has been published in multiple publications, including the Journal of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery and American Journal of Sports Medicine, where he also serves as a peer reviewer. He functions as faculty with the University of Oklahoma Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship Program as well as the SSM Orthopedic Surgery Residency Program.
He serves as a team physician for several local high schools, including Heritage Hall, in addition to the OKC Energy. His approach to patient care involves a relationship centered approach, where an understanding of a patient’s goals, activity and personality guide treatment decisions. Above all, he treats patients as if they were family.
When not working, Dr. Glomset loves spending time with his wife and 3 children. He enjoys outdoor activities, running and going to local sporting events.
